Design and Analysis

The design of an electronic system involves requirement capture, partitioning, circuit design, ASIC design and software design.

Analysis may be required at the requirements stage in order to model the system. It may be used to predict circuit behaviour and interaction with the system, and to optimize the design. It is used during ASIC development to ensure correct functionality and to develop test strategies.

Example Analysis Results

The inputs to the design process are requirements, functional definition, including details of other systems with which the electronics must interface and mechanical details.

2 Design Process Showing Input And Output Objects

The outputs of the design process are schematics of the circuitry, a bill of materials defining all the components used, schematics or definitions of any ASICs and code for any microprocessors or microcontrollers.
